Turkish museums change to mosques. Why?

Turkish museums change to mosques. Why?

The Hagia Sophia and Chora Museum, which symbolized secularism in Turkey, will now be converted into a mosque. This decision, taken by Turkish President Erdogan, is highly condemnable. Which is being opposed all over the world. This has been a major cause of tension among Christians and Muslims around the world. Whether it is Russia or America, everyone has objected to this. So let us know why Turkish President Erdogan is doing this and before that let us know what is the importance of Hagia Sophia and Chora museum.

Hagia Sophia

Originally the building was a church built in the city of Constantinople (nowadays Istanbul) in 532 AD during the reign of Justinian-I, the ruler of the Byzantine Empire. it  remained an important center of orthodox Christianity for nearly 900 years, and in 1453 when the city of Constantinople came under the Ottoman Empire after which sultan Mahmud-2  converted it into a mosque. Originally the building was a church which was converted into a mosque. It remained Istanbul's most attractive mosque for nearly 500 years. In 1934, the founder of modern Turkey, Mustafa Kamal Ataturk, converted the mosque into a museum in an effort to make Turkey a secular country. It was opened for the general public in 1935. About 1500 years old this building is listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Greece objected to the reading of the Quran inside the Hagia Sophia Museum on the 567th anniversary of the Ottoman Empire's invasion of the former Nigerian capital Constantinople.

Chora museum

This church was built outside the city walls of Constantinople by Constantine the Great in the early fourth century. The church, damaged during an earthquake, was rebuilt by Emperor Justinian-1 in 532AC–537AC. The church was later converted into a mosque by the Ottoman Empire. The Chora Church was converted into a mosque in the early 16th century by Atiq Ali Pasha, the successor of Sultan Bayezid-2 and eldest son of Mehmed II. But Turkey, emerging as a secular republic after World War II, changed it into a museum in 1945 and opened it to the general public in 1958. Originally it was also a church which was converted into a museum by symbolizing secularism.

Why is President Erdogan doing this?

Turkey is a Muslim majesty country, where more than 98% people believe in Islam. Erdogan was the mayor of Istanbul before forming his own party Justice and Development Party in 2001 and, with his good deeds, won the election with an absolute majority in 2002 and became Turkey's prime minister. After which he did a lot of good work, he focused on education, health care, focused on economy, poverty was almost halved, infrastructure was increased due to which he again won the election of prime minister in 2007 and 2011. But in the 2014 election He was not eligible to contest this election because according to party rules, a prime minister in Turkey could not stay more than 3 times and Erdogan did not want to step down. Because of which in 2014, he again stood for President and won and passed many constitution reforms in order to keep more power with him. Transferred all the powers of the Prime Minister to the President and the extent was reached when he finished the Prime Minister's post. He became absolutely blind in the greed of power and completely forgot about the development of the country. Due to which the economy of Turkey started falling down, unemployment started rising, debt on the country started increasing, inflation crossed to 10 percent, GDP growth stopped from 0 to 1 percent, due to this all the people of Turkey started revolting, when the Generalists  started questioning, the President put them in jail. Today, most of the generalists in Turkey are in jail. And to divert attention from all this and to get public support, they are trying to use religion. In this series, they not only opened new Islamic schools in 2017-18 but were also given double funding. New mosques were built. In order to divert attention from the real issue to religion and sect. But such leaders must understand that the country is becoming infamous worldwide due to their personal interests and Turkey is losing its constitutional credibility.

vaccine crisis in India.Issues related to the vaccine currently?

About 6 months ago, when India was witnessing a decline in the corona case, hardly anyone would have thought that India would witness the second wave of coronavirus. But this happened and India completely caught the coronavirus. Perhaps this is the reason why India's healthcare has collapsed. The way India was donating the Coronavirus vaccine to the world, it never felt that this country would ever be able to cope with the vaccine crisis. But this happened and now the universalization of vaccines in India is also seen as a setback along with the health service. Even though the Indian government has announced to vaccinate people above the age of 18 years, but the way in which the states have given up arms, it seems that the vaccination plan in India may be affected. One of its hallmarks is that India, which exports vaccines to the world, is now forced to import the vaccine itself. According to the news, India is importing about 1300,000 vaccine doses of Sputnik V vaccine from its ...
