75 days and 7 phases of the Farmers protest

 It has been more than 75 days for the ongoing farmer movement on the borders of Delhi. The Agriculture Minister said in the Rajya Sabha last Friday that the current movement is only a state issue. However, a large number of farmers across the country are joining the demonstrations of farmers and recently many international celebrities have also commented on this. After the nuisance at the Red Fort on 26 January, many questions were also raised on the authenticity of the peasant movement. Let's know 7 stops of 75 days.

1.from confrontation to negotiation.

Delhi Chalo starts from November 23:


 Farmers' unions appealed to Delhi Chalo on January 23 after talks with the government failed.

 On 26 November, the farmers were stopped by the police on the Delhi border, after which the farmers sat on the borders to sit on the strike which continues till now.

  •  11 rounds of talks also failed

  • In Punjab the farmers were agitating for the first time to talk on October 14 but the farmers got up from the meeting due to absence of the Agriculture Minister. This was followed by a final meeting on 22 January 2021.

The government agreed to 2 demands.


  • On December 10 last year, the Center accepted the major farmers two demands of the. But the farmers withdrawing the new law remained adamant on.

 Suspension of law for 18 months

 On 21 January, the Center proposed to temporarily suspend the law, saying that they will work on improving the law by forming a committee, but the farmers did not agree.


2. From Tractor to Twitter


  • Tractor to Twitter social media campaign was launched on November 30 to increase online movement. 

  • On 18 December, the weekly newspaper Trolley Times For the farmers was started to answer the propaganda.

  •  On December 15, 400 pizzas were anchored at the Sigu border. A mall for farmers was also opened at the protest site which was in the news

3.No solution from  court.

  •  On January 12, the Supreme Court indefinitely stayed agricultural laws.

  • The Supreme Court formed a committee of 04 members who also decided to buy the farmers did not agree.

  •  On February 03, the Supreme Court refused to interfere in the January 26 violence case.

4.Kishan's movement changed into a nuisance

  •  On 26 January, a group of protesting farmers hoisted the special religious flag at the Red Fort. 

  • 1 Protestant farmer died in this day's disturbance. Politics regarding the causes of death is still going on.

  • 37 peoples including many former leaders were booked under various sections 

  • 2 former organizations disassociated themselves from the movement , with large numbers of peasants returning.


5.The tears of  Rakesh Tikait and tractor flooded the border.

  •  January 29: Rakesh Ticket gave emotional speech amid pressure to return movement. He said - If this happens, they will commit suicide but the law will not be removed till the withdrawal.

  •  January 30: After the tears of Tikait, a large number of tractors from western UP started collecting on the Ghazipur border.

  •  February 01: Ghazipur becomes the center of the border movement, replacing the ticker border. Manish ran from Sisodia to Sanjay Raut to support Tikait.

  •  06 February: After the chakka jam across the country, Tikait said that peaceful protest will continue.


6.Capital fortifications


  • 3 Main Demonstration Sites, Delhi Police barricaded with concrete and buried spikes on the roads so that tractors could not enter Delhi. 

  • 5 layers of barricades have been erected along the sindhu border,barricades done by the nails

  • Internet At the Tikri, Sindhu and Ghazipur border since 26 January services have been repeatedly disrupted, with electricity-water services also disrupted. 

  • According to the Samyukta Kisan Morcha, more than 190 farmers have died during this movement .

7. Global celebrities' tweeted 

On February 04, Grammy Award-winning pop singer Rehana tagged several celebrities to support the performance of Indian farmers. Natural extremist Greta Thunberg additionally tweeted in help, one of which was purportedly a tool compartment, enlisting a FIR to research it.Many other big international celebrities such as Kamala Harris's niece tweeted in support. However, actress Kangana Ranaut and others made comments against it. The Home Ministry additionally gave an assertion portraying it as an inner matter of the country.
